Meet Me!
My first blog post, and it seems only right that it should be more of an introduction to myself! So here we go!
I am Emily and the owner and Floral designer of Va Va Bloom. We specialise in Wedding and Event flowers today but we have exciting plans for 2023, so watch this space!
Life Before Flowers
Born and raised in Dorset I have many happy memories outside in my Mum and Nannie’s gardens. I left to study Business Management at the University of Surrey where I met some wonderful friends and create amazing experiences together!
After graduating I joined a graduate scheme at a large engineering corporation where I was lucky enough to moving through several business areas and different functions until I found myself in Sales in Bristol. I moved between Sales and Services but after nearly 10 years, I did the very scary thing and handed my notice in to fully focus on growing Va Va Bloom!
Floral Training
In 2019 my floral training began with a Career Change course at Tallulah Rose when the flower school was based in Bath. This gave me the most fantastic base to build my experience from!
I had the absolute pleasure of returning to Bath in June 2022 to complete a Large Scale Installation course at The Bath Flower School. Building my confidence and love of all floral things large and abundant!
Home Life
Home for me is our lovely flat in Montpelier, Bristol, where we have been for the last 5 years. I share my home with my husband (Lee) and cat (Smudge).
Lee and I got married in December 2021 so I have know the highs and lows of wedding planning and floral design well!
Relaxation and Recreation
One of my favourite pastimes is a night at a music concert or the theatre. There is nothing quite like the buzz from a crowd signing along together!
I am fortunate to have a wonderful husband who loves to cook, so when he wants a break 😉 we head to one of the many restaurants Bristol has to offer. I love nothing more than trying a new cuisine or heading to one of our favourite spots for dinner and drinks.
Wonderlust Dreams
We were very lucky to have our dream holiday for our honeymoon last year when we went to Mauritius! The most fantastic, relaxing and indulgent experience!
We love a New Years Eve break and have managed to do this every year we have been together. So far we have spent NYE in London, Edinburgh, Berlin, the Cotswolds and Paris! I am excited to think where we will add to this list over the years!
